About
the Coaches...
Head Coach, Kele Fitzhugh,
is entering his 7th season with the Knights. Kele grew up in Grass Valley
and graduated from Nevada Union High School in 1981. Kele then attended
Weber State on a basketball scholarship and later completed his Bachelor's
degree at CSU-Chico. Coach Fitzhugh began his coaching career in 1983
as a 6th grade basketball coach and then as the assistant JV girls coach
for Nevada Union High School. Kele started coaching college basketball
in 1987 as a student assistant at CSU-Chico under Pete Mathieson. After
spending one season as the men's assistant basketball coach at Butte
College, Kele returned to CSU-Chico as the Men's Head Assistant Coach
under "Puck" Smith. Kele coached at CSU-Chico until accepting
his current position at Shasta College. During his time at CSU-Chico,
the Wildcats captured four consecutive NCAC championships and made three
appearances in the NCAA Division II Western Regional Playoffs. Coach
Fitzhugh had immediate success at Shasta College, winning G.V.C. Championships
in four of his first six years on the job. Kele and his wife, Karin,
have been married for 15 years and have two children, Karle (11) and
Andrew (8). Coach Fitzhugh likes to golf, go to Shasta Lake and spend
time with friends in his spare time. Karin is a Physical Education instructor
and coach at Central Valley High School.

Coach
He is a 1983 graduate
of Mt. Shasta High School, where in his senior season, he was named
to the All-State team. Eric attended the University of the Pacific on
a basketball scholarship. In 1988, he earned his Bachelor's degree from
Whitman College. After playing professionally for three years in Germany,
Eric returned to the states and completed his Master's degree in History
at Southern Oregon Universities. Eric is a full time instructor at West
Valley High School. He coached basketball at West Valley for seven years.
Coach Proscher's teams played for the section championship and qualified
for the state tournament in 1999 and 2003. Eric has been married to
Francisco Giants baseball, and spending time with hisamily.
