] 2006 Knights Reap Rewards COACH OF THE YEAR TOO! (12/1/06) The Shasta College men's soccer team netted six honors this week. Knights' coach Paul Richardson was named the Bay Valley Conference's Coach of the Year after guiding his team to an 8-3-1 mark and a second-place league finish. Daniel Reynolds and Kevin Hernandez were first-team All Conference selections for the Knights. Nicholas Han, Manolo Melloni and Hiroaki Umehara were second-team All Conference picks. Gomez Scores Twice in Win KNIGHTS SECOND IN GVC Shasta 4, Napa 3 -- Ezequel Gomez scored two goals to pace the Knights. Cody Hughes scored off a penalty kick and Ingui Vermeulen also found the back of the net for Shasta (8-3-2) clinched second place in the Golden Valley Conference. Knights Roll Marin GOMEZ SCORES TWICE Shasta 5, Marin 2 -- The Knights scored four times in the second half to pull away with the win. Kaleb Steinhauer had the lone first-half goal before Eqequel Gomez punched the ball in twice in the second half for Shasta (6-3-1 Bay Valley Conference, 6-10-2). Knights Turn Table on FRC LOST FIRST MEETING 6-0 Ezequel Gomez scored off of a penalty kick in the first half to get the Knights started toward victory. In the second half Hunter Smith and Ingui Vermeulen each had a goal fo lead the Knights to their 3-1 win. With the win the Knights avenged an earlier 6-0 loss to FRC in thier first match. The Knights are now 4-2-1 in GVC play and they head to Lassen College on Tuesday, 10/24/06. Knights Beat CCC EZEQUEL GOMEZ SCORES GOAL (10/13/06) The Knights knocked off Contra Costa 1-0 off of a penalty kick goal scored by Ezequel Gomez in the 39th minute of the match. The Knights (3-1-1 GVC travel to Napa on Tuesday and hosts FRC on Friday of next week, 10/20/06.
