Mikey Sets New Record
STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS
(Mission Viejo-5/2/08) Shasta's Mikey Eustance set a new school record in the
50-yard butterfly in 28.04 seconds, placing 12th at the state meet in Mission Viejo. The previous Knights record was 28.53 set by Angie Miller in 2002. Eustance also placed seventh in the 50 back in 29.15.

(Sacramento-4/26/08) Mikey Eustance is a double threat. The Shasta College sophomore softball team's pitching ace took Bay Valley Conference Female Swimmer of the Year after sweeping her individual aquatic events over the weekend. Mikey won the 100-yard backstroke in 1:03.77 seconds on Saturday. She won the 50 back and 50 butterfly on Friday. On Saturday, the Knights saw Tyler Mansfield take third in the 200 breast (2:33.25) edging teammate Trey August (2:33.32) in the process. Josh Cannan was fifth i0n the mile in 22:29.47. On the women's side, Kacy Wiley ws third in the 100 breast (1:17.43) Wiley and Eustance teamed with Gem Larson and Christina Monterrubio to take third in the 400 free relay.

BVC CHAMPIONSHIPS
(Sacramento-4/25/08) Bay Valley Swimming Championships in Sacramento-- The Knights had four top finishers on the first day of the Bay Valley Swimming Championships in Sacramento. Mikey Eustance won the 50-yard backstroke in 29.89 seconds and the 50 butterfly in 28.62. Kacy Wiley finished third in the 50 breaststroke in 35.33. Eustance, Kacey Wiley, Gem Larson, and Christina Monterrubio took third place in the 200 medley relay. Arlen Pederson was the only top three finisher for the men placing third in the 100 backstroke in 1:02.12.
