Knight Men Close to SCC
BLAIR RAGSDALE LEADS
(Sacramento-2/14/08) In the match down in Sacramento, No.2 Blair Ragsdale came out with both a singles win and a win in doubles. He and his partner, No.1 Alex Geautraux, pulled out a doubles win 6-3, 7-6 (5) over the Panther’s team of Carisen and Jackson, No.3 and 4, respectively. Ragsdale beat Sac City’s Jake Petitle 7-6 (3), 6-2. The only other singles player to win was No.5 Andy Martin, defeating Danny Nguyen 6-0, 6-0. He and his partner, John Smith, fell at No.2 doubles in a three set match at 6-1, 5-7, 4-6. The Knights doubles team of Shin Gabriele and Jeff Schirmann won at No.3, defeating the Panthers 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 in another three set doubles match. The Knight men's team lost by a
close score of 5-4.
Lady Knights Roll SCC
START SEASON WITH BIG WIN
(Sacramento-2/14/08) The Lady Knights traveled down to Sacramento only to lose one singles match by default due to injury. For their efforts the Lady Knights came away with a 6-1 win over Sacramento City College. No.4 Kelly Dunn could not play her singles match due to an injury, but she and her partner Kayti Laam, No. 6, pulled out a No.3 doubles win over Sac City, winning
6-1, 6-2. Laam then went into singles, beating Meuy Satem 6-2, 6-3. The doubles team of Kristen and Melissa Buist went into three sets, defeating the team of Buryak and Yakimchuk 3-6, 6-4, 6-2. No.2 Kristen then went onto
defeat Buryak in singles 6-1, 7-5, while No.3 Melissa played Sac City’s
Daniella Romero, defeating her 6-3, 6-0. No.1 Reagan Miller defeated the Panther’s Joey Pruchi in a three set match 5-7, 6-1,6-4. Her doubles
partner No.5 Lisa Mauck also won her singles in three sets 6-4, 2-6, 7-6 (7). Miller and Mauck went on to beat Romero and Klimuskin in doubles 7-5, 6-3.
