About the Coach...

Head Coach Jerry Brown is entering his 13th year as a Shasta College basketball coach, tenth as the Lady Knight's Head Coach. Coach Brown was named Northern California Coach of the Year in 2000 for leading the Knights to a school record 33-4 record. The Knights had a season in 2000 that will be hard to duplicate. Most wins ever with 33, undefeated in the GVC at 10-0, number #1 ranking in the north, number #2 ranking in the state, state tournament play-off victories against, Fresno City College, College of the Siskiyous, College of the Canyons, and San Jose City College. The Knights only flaw that year was the 71-68 defeat in the state championship game to undefeated Ventura College. Coach Brown is a Mt. Shasta High School graduate and a 3 time league MVP. He was an All-American his senior year. Coach Brown then played basketball on a scholarship at San Diego State University. Jerry was named team captain his senior year at SDSU. After college Coach Brown played professional basketball in Norway for one year and then he returned to San Diego to coach both the boy's and girl's teams at Mt. Miquel High School. After staying at Mt. Miguel for 3 years Coach Brown then returned to Mt. Shasta and coached there for 4 years before coming to Shasta College. Jerry resides in Redding.
