LADY KNIGHT'S SOCCER 2008
Coaches

Aaron Miller - Head Coach
Kansas Wesleyan University ‘06
Originally from the east coast, Coach Aaron
begins his career as a Head Soccer Coach
at Shasta College. Taking the reins, after
spending the 2007 season as the Men’s
assistant, comes with much experience in
college athletics. Happily, Aaron inherits a
spectacular class of local freshman recruits, all
possessing great individual talents.
Much of his coaching philosophy rests in past
experiences of participation in athletics, since
a young age, and several years of operating
youth sports camps. Growing up in an athletic
family has shaped beliefs in living a balance
of mental stimulation and exploration of
knowledge, testing the limits of the physical
body through healthy lifestyles, and a greater
understanding of human spirituality through
belief in any higher power.
His coaching background began as instructor
at several summer soccer camps and
developing a passion for leadership. After
playing for the New Hampshire U-23 State
Select team, he was offered an athletic
scholarship to Kansas Wesleyan University.
Excelling as a fi eld goal kicker, cross-country
reserve, and strong central midfi elder, he
graduated with dual degrees in Kinesiology
and Religious Studies. In the ‘real world now’,
he found himself exploring college athletics
further, but now as a coach. This quickly
landed him in Redding and on the Shasta
College campus. “The team has demonstrated talent and
interest in not only pursuing a 4-year degree,
but to also play the game at a higher level.
It is my duty, using positive experiences, to
guide these student-athletes in directions
of academic success, athletic profi ciency,
and being healthy active individuals of the
community. “

Steve Zachary - Assistant Coach
This typical southern
California personality
and charisma will
charm many officials
this season. Coach
Steven has numerous
great attributes as
a standout college
athlete. Having
played at Fresno City
College, Ottawa University, and Southern
Wesleyan University he possesses the
experience to understand and lead college
athletics. Furthermore, he recently spent
a season with the Cocoa Expos. This will
certainly “rub off ” on the development
of players through demonstration and
motivation.
