Ancient Life
Geol 6
The ancient life class explores the history of life through time.  Fields trips visit fossil localities in northern California as well as Bay area museums. Collecting is encouraged!

Oceanography

As a part of investigating the oceans, a field trip to the coast exposes students to a variety of coastal habitats, the Telonicher marine lab, and HSU oceanography professors.  Weather permiting, there may even be a sea cruise aboard the Coral Sea !

Geology of the Modoc Plateau

Positioned in the northeast corner of the state, the Modoc Plateau records numerous volcanic features including the largest volcanoe in the Cascades.  The plateau is broken by faults asome of which expose ancient lake basins.
